This PSA is to address concerns regarding mix-matched cables for power supplies. The short answer to this problem is you can't discern the cables apart. Below we will go over some of the reasons, dangers, and policy information.
As you can see below there are two 24-pin cables. There are no markings on these cables to tell them apart. These are from two different model power supplies with completely different pinouts. Using the wrong cable can result in damaged hardware which is not covered under warranty. See our warranty page for more information.
The same is true for all the cables for your PSU. When you buy a new PSU, DO NOT mix the cables up, and always change out all the cables. The possibility of hardware damage is always present.
