There are a lot of reasons someone may have this question. Maybe you are looking for extensions? Maybe you are looking to replace lost cables? This article will address concerns regarding cabling for all our PSU's.
I lost my cables; can I purchase some from you or other companies?
Unfortunately, when it comes to cables, things get specific. The pin layout for each cable is different, and between companies that variance can be large. For this reason, we are adamant that no cables purchased or given outside of Thermaltake will work or will be covered. It is part of our warranty policy that if any damage is to occur because of the use of other companies’ cables, we are not liable for any damage as a result.
Can you provide the pin layout for your cables so I can custom make my own?
We do not provide the pin layouts for any of our cables. The reason for this is we do not want any of our users to make a mistake and accidentally destroy the hardware. There are those who are confident in their ability to make the cables themselves, but as a policy, we would rather users did not accidentally destroy their hardware, so we do not provide this information publicly.
What cable extensions can I use?
We recommend using Thermaltake extensions which can be found here. We guarantee that our extensions will work for our power supplies. When it comes to other companies, we cannot guarantee compatibility because we do not have control over how they make their products.
I purchased a different model Thermaltake power supply; can I use my old cables?
Regardless of whether you owned another companies PSU or even one of our older ones with modular cables, we ALWAYS recommend using the cables that came with the PSU you purchased. The pin layout can change with the smallest change between models, even wattages, that may make the cables either not work or even be dangerous to use with your system. Remember, ALWAYS change the power cables even if you purchased the same model with different wattage.
