There are many reasons to remove your panels. Some cases are different from others on how to remove those panels. Below we will discuss some of the various ways there are to remove panels safely. Always remember, consult your manual online at our Thermaltake USA website for more information. Lets get started.
We will begin with the basic case such as our Ceres, View, Tower, Versa, and Divider cases. These cases all have the about the same mechanisms to remove either top, side, or front panels, with minor variations. For most cases, there is a palm shaped hole to put your fingers into, see image below.
Simple insert your hand into this palm shaped areas and give it a moderately forceful tug. This will pop the panels out of their locking mechanisms. Make sure to pull straight out or up. Sometimes pulling at angles breaks the locking mechanism which causes problems long term.
As for the side panels, for the most part they are held on with thumb screws like shown below. This includes many of the glass side panels that held on by a combination of thumb screws and hinges. Simply remove the screws, either on the back of the case or on the panel itself. If the panel is on hinges it will swing open. If the panel is not on hinges you will need to either push back to unlatch or up to unlatch the panels.
There are some exceptions however, as some models had specially designed panels. For example, the View 51. The top panel has two screws that secure it to the case, as shown below. Those two screws must be removed before you slide the top panel back, which then allows you to remove the front panel using the palm shaped area.
The next exception is with the new CTE E600 MX and View 270. These have special seamless panels that provide a more clean hardware viewing experience. The side and front panels can be removed for maintenance as well as having the ability to be changed from Tempered Glass to Mesh Panel. As shown below, put your fingers on the glass side panel where there is a small area to fit your finger tips. Pull towards your body and the panel pops out. Once the side panel is off, you can remove the front panel.
That's all there is for now. As mentioned above, you can always consult your manual found on our website or contact our support team for instructions. As always, stay cool.
