Whether you have CT fans on your own or case fans for cases like the Ceres Series cases, installation of the ARGB has never been easier. With a controller-free environment, you can plug directly into the motherboard to be controlled by manufacturer software ( such as ASUS, MSI, ASROCK, etc ).
* NOTE: Though this FAQ shows the DATA cable installation, the power cable is the same installation style.
First, start with installing the fans in such a way that the cables are on the same side and near each other. This leads to easier installation for future steps. As illustrated below, the data cable is a female-to-male connection that leads to an extension cable that goes to the motherboard.
Next, use the coupler that comes with the accessories to reinforce the head connections. Make sure to use this as the cable management process can disconnect the fan's link to one another. Line up the coupler with the joined heads and use your thumbs to press down the coupler over the heads.
The last thing to do is to join the motherboard sync cable extension cable which should end in a female head, and be significantly longer for ease of installation. Find the header on the motherboard marked 5v_dg, that is your 5-volt header used for the data cables.
When handling the POWER cables there is one important difference. Instead of plugging into the 5v_dg port, you will want to find either the CPU_FAN header so the fans can adjust their speeds as needed or CH_FAN header which will run the fans at full speed.
